Gael Force Nylon Rope (Sold per metre) From £0.99
Nylon rope traditionally offers the highest breaking strains, making it the top performer in tough conditions, although its strength is reduced when wet. Its abrasion resistance is extremely high, and its multi-filament construction gives it tremendous stretching capability.
Nylon rope from Gael Force is manufactured using top-quality European yarns, making it a consistent and reliable product in the most demanding circumstances.
BSEN 696, specific gravity 1.14, elongation at break 43%.
Manufactured in 3 strand construction.
Typical applications: High shock loading uses - towing vessels, especially in heavy seas, vehicle towing, industrial environments where much higher temperature resistance than other synthetic fibres is critical and where high abrasion resistance is required, mooring ropes; fish farm cages, yachting.

The rope is very soft-laid, which has advantages and disadvantages. Good is that it maximises the strength of the rope; bad is that it might abrade readily. It was very easy to splice, but the soft lay meant that it had to be served over to ensure security.

As described. Good soft easy handling rope

Three core nylon rope; it is what it says. Easy to splice, but do bear in mind that 16mm rope is pretty fat for going round boat cleats - I probably should have gone for 14mm but that's life, at least I know it's unlikely to break!
